This might be too tall an order as it's probably been at least 10 years and I only watched 5-10 minutes of it, but if anyone can help, it's you folks.
I'd guess that this movie was made around the 1970s judging by the picture/sound quality.
The bit that I watched was a long (5-10 minutes) stretch of a guy racing on a countryside road course in a car that my memory tells me looks kind of like the picture below, but maybe dark green in color.
The bit I watched had no dialogue and no music, just the glorious sound of the car's engine (which is why I stopped and watched then and want to find it now).
That's the information you have to go on. I hope that's enough for you guys to identify.
EDIT: Thanks to some mighty helpful Opponauts, I believe we have identified it as Grand Prix. Shows how much I know about classic racing movies. :)

Could it be Grand Prix?

First guess would be Grand Prix.
Brought to you by the legendary John Frankenheimer, also gave us the glorious Ronin.

That was my first thought. I don't remember a country road course though

Possibly. I've watched a few clips on YouTube and the style of filming and sound certainly match up, but I don't remember there being any dialogue during the scene I watched.

Well Spa back in the 60's was through the Belgian country side.

I don't think it started with dialogue.

Just buy a digital copy, then you can watch them whenever you're bored.

I think this is it. A few shots in that clip looked real familiar.

I think Grand Prix might be it. Even if it isn't, this a damn good substitute.

I've been meaning to but never got around to it.
